Steve Pynt – Director

Steven obtained his law degree from the University of Western Australia in 1980 and through part time studies has since gained a Bachelor of Business degree (accounting), an MBA and a Master of Taxation Studies.

He is a director of McDonald Pynt Lawyers practicing mainly in the areas of contract, property and corporations law.

Prior to establishing the firm, he was a partner in the firm Healy Pynt. He is a member of the Racing Penalties Appeals Tribunal, the non-executive director of three listed public companies, and the finance director of a major private Western Australian recruitment company and Muzz Buzz. Steven also assists in the management of the Gladstones and Koolama vineyards in the Manjimup region, which he also holds interests in.

David McDonald – Director

David has extensive property and commercial business experience.

From 1990 to 2003 David worked at Phillips Fox & Williams & Hughes. David has been preparing and negotiating commercial leases since 1995. He has experience in drafting land purchase documentation, agreements to lease, offers to lease, negotiating and drafting leases for major tenants and acted for developers and the landlords of various shopping centre.

His commercial experience includes drafting franchise agreements, business sale agreements, mortgages, loan finance and floating charges and trust deeds. David also has extensive experience drafting Wills, including testamentary trust provisions and Enduring Powers of Attorney.

David has been a member of the board of the Fremantle Chamber of Commerce.

He is a Dockers supporter.

Aroha Hill - Solicitor

Aroha joined McDonald Pynt in March 2007. She completed combined degrees in Law and Arts in 2003 and later did her articles in Denmark and Albany. Since being admitted as a Barrister and Solicitor in July 2005 Aroha has primarily worked in Wills and Estate Litigation and Commercial Litigation. In her spare time Aroha volunteers for charity and is a keen AFL and cricket fan.
 

Margaret Sandford - Solicitor

Margaret Sandford obtained her law degree from the University of Western Australia and began her career as a lawyer in 1983. Since then her career has centred predominantly on commercial litigation and commercial conveyancing in general practice. In the late 1980s Margaret spent four formative years working in London’s Fleet Street for a commercial law firm where the importance of constant communication with clients and prompt and efficient service were strongly emphasised. Margaret is fluent in both spoken and written Italian and is a keen traveller and lover of outdoor pursuits.

Margaret returned to her home State of Western Australia in 1989 and worked in Perth for a boutique commercial firm in general practice for 15 years before accepting a position as senior solicitor with McDonald Pynt Lawyers. Margaret has been preparing and negotiating commercial leases since 1983. Stephanie Wright - Solicitor

Stephanie joined McDonald Pynt Lawyers in March 2007. She completed a Science degree, majoring in Environmental Health, at the Curtin University of Technology in 2002 and a degree in Law at the University of Notre Dame in 2005. She has varied experience in property and commercial law matters and is a member of Women Lawyers of Western Australia. In her spare time, Stephanie enjoys listening to music and spending time with her family and friends.

Kelly Matheson – Legal Secretary

Kelly started work at McDonald Pynt Lawyers as the firm’s receptionist in early 2005. Her outstanding organisational abilities saw her quickly promoted to the role of legal secretary, a position in which she has worked since August 2005. Kelly’s extracurricular activities include drawing and painting and attending live music events.

Mary Miller - Legal Secretary

Mary started work at McDonald Pynt Lawyers in August 2007 she previously ran her own Music Teaching business and enjoys playing the piano. Previously Mary also worked as a medical secretary and with an architectural firm. Mary enjoys attending symphony orchestral and theatrical events. Mary loves spending time with her 3 pets being a Rottweiler cross Kelpie and 2 cats.

Sonia Shere – Accounts

Sonia is responsible for the McDonald Pynt and Complete Property Settlements accounts.

Sonia is a legal secretary with 17 years experience working in firms both in Western Australia and the Eastern States including Gibson and Gibson, Williams & Hughes and Stables Scott.

She has also worked as HR assistant for Ranger Uranium Mine in the Northern Territory.
 

Kiarna Fitzpatrick – Junior Secretary

Kiarna started at McDonald Pynt in June 2007 with no legal experience but bountiful experience in dancing. Kiarna teaches Jazz and has retired recently from performing on a professional level.

Kiarna has dreams to travel and one day live on the Gold Coast.
