We are currently looking for a Legal Secretary that is highly organized and motivated. You will be responsible for providing secretarial and administrative support to a team of Lawyers including a Partner of the firm. This position is ideally suitable for a person with a hardworking ethic yet a fun and outgoing personality.

 

Essential Criteria:

 

  • Audio typing and copy typing
  • Attending to telephone queries from clients
  • File management, paper and electronic
  • General Administration including photocopying, typing, emails etc
  • Monthly billing preparation for team
  • Diary management

 To be considered for this position you will need the following attributes:

 

  • Minimum 2 years experience as a Legal Secretary
  • Intermediate to Advanced Word, Excel and Outlook skills
  • Prioritise and multitask
  • Ability to adapt to change
  • Work to deadlines
  • Strong and accurate typing speed
  • Highly organized with attention to detail

Directors use of EPA's

A company director cannot use an Enduring Power of Attorney or a standard Power of Attorney for the purposes of appointing someone to execute documents on behalf of the company because the role of a director is one of the few things you can't delegate: see Mancini v Mancini [1999] NSWSC 799 (6 August 1999). The office of a director is a personal responsibility, and can only be discharged by the person who holds the office.
