As from 16 February new legislation applies in Western Australia creating an Advance Health Directives (AHD). An AHD is a legal document in which you set out your decisions about your future medical treatment. You can give or withhold consent for specific health care. An AHD is only used when you become unable to make a treatment decision for yourself. Any decisions you make in your AHD must be followed by health professionals except in very limited circumstances. |
